Length: One Day Course. This course focuses on how to prepare a effective business plan, what it should contain and how to research your material. It is assumed that all participants will be considering writing a business plan or will be trying to write a business plan. Each participant will leave the course with information that they can include in a business plan.
Length: 3 One Day Courses. This set of courses guides participants through the process of employing staff, including writing the advert, job descriptions, how to interview, the preparation of an employment contract, induction and the creation of a staff handbook. It will also provide information on current employment law.
Length: One Day Course. This course provides participants with practical resources and information that will help the effective management of staff. It includes how to manage difficult staff. It covers informal supervision, formal supervision, annual appraisal, and how performance can be monitored, measured and encouraged.
Length: Two Day Course. Unless a group or organisation is ‘treading water’ and achieving little, it will be engaged at some point in a process of change. This course provides information and practical advice on how to manage the change process successfully. It will include techniques to recognise obstacles or problems before they are reached and understanding of how to meet and deal with them. It will also explore the kind of leaders that are required to make change happen successfully.

It is aimed at those who are responsible for a project and assumes that participants will have access to a real project in which they have some management involvement.

Length: Modular Course This course is based on the ‘Good Governance Standard for Public Services’ and provides a range of workshops which can be tailored to the needs of a specific Organisation. The course will highlight the important aspects of governance that are required if a Committee/Board are to be effective, and helps participants to create appropriate action plans to develop their own understanding and best practice. This course can also provide an important opportunity for any group to review their current practice and procedures.
